Pop-Up Share Shacks

A SPACE TO SHARE, LEARN, CREATE AND GROW

What is a Pop-Up Share Shack?

Having piloted and tested two fixed Share Shacks in Ladywood and Balsall Heath, we also run Share Shacks in existing community spaces – called “Pop Up Share Shacks”.

A member of our team will bring equipment from our Library of Things to the venue for community members to borrow for free.  The space that we use within each venue is different; it varies from an outdoor covered space to an indoor community room to an unused car park.

Each Pop-Up Share Shack runs for a few hours a week to run alongside what is already offered by the community venue.  See below for our current list of Pop Up Share Shacks.

Would you like to see a Pop-Up Share Shack in your community?

If you believe that a Pop-Up Share Shack would work well in your community, we would love to talk to you.  Please contact our Pop-Up Lead Andie Jenkins on [email protected].

We recognise that setting up a Pop-Up Share Shack is not a one-size-fits all approach. We’ll facilitate community consultations at a hyperlocal level to understand what communities would like to see in a Pop-Up Share Shack. This is essential in making the project work, ensuring community ownership in the long-term.

Please also visit our Share Shack project page at https://theaws.co.uk/active-communities/share-shacks/ where you can view our Library of Things catalogue.
