Making Wild
Whether it’s through nature, growing, play or having fun any which way, we’re interested in how you’re wild. We have a few ideas below which might help you get started on making things indoors and outdoors using things you have our you’ll find nearby. For more ideas check out our other Wild Challenge pages, and please post us your ideas and what your doing to Active Communities Going Wild.

Lighting a Fire
While we don’t depend on fires as we we have in the past for heat, light and food, there is something magical about a fire, and even if it’s just a barbeque you’re having, just lighting a fire can be great fun.
Let Jago and Freya (aged 14 and 11) show you how to light a fire with a flint and steel.
Whittling
Knowing how to use a knife and how to craft wood can be a rewarding activity indoors and outdoors. I enjoy looking for the wood locally as much as the wood carving itself, which you can do indoors or outdoors.
Test out whittling and make a marker for your first whittling project.
Scavenger trail
Wild Scavenger trails can be a great way to play together in Lockdown – they can be in a Park, in a Garden or even indoors. Adults can make them for children, children can make them for adults, or you can make them for each other. They can be a great way to introduce other making wild activities, like digging up and using clay (see Jerry, the Scavenger Glob).
