Walk & Talk

Helping individuals to overcome loneliness

Walk and talk Sessions

The Active Wellbeing Society are funded by Sport England to support people to reengage with activities such as walking and running.

As part of this the Listen and Connect service recognises the need for people to physically and emotionally ‘step back out’ and look towards recovery following the Covid-19 pandemic. We continue to work with communities to co-design interventions that can flex and adapt to best support people and meet them where they are at. This will be different for different people; it could be taking small steps out of their homes, 1:2:1 support in a green space, or joining social walking and running groups.

We hope to create the stability and space to enable people to engage with physical opportunities and self-care. To give people a purpose, to get out again and create the conditions whereby people can participate, and reverse the habits that have formed since the start of the pandemic.

If you are looking only for group activities and do not feel you require support from Listen and Connect then please use our activity tracker to search for walking and running groups in your area.
