Chris Hoare’s Mosaic With Symbolic Flowers

Chris Hoare from Ladywood, Chair of the Birmingham Southwest Group, is leading the creation of a large, symbolic mosaic.

Since the social distancing measures were put in place, Chris has been taking requests from people to have flowers displayed on the mosaic which either have a significant meaning to the person or represent someone during this tough time. He has had offers and requests from across the world with one lady promising when the launch of the mosaic takes place, she will fly over to see it!

Chris is so excited that he can help people feel better by displaying flowers that have important symbolic meaning, honouring what is important to those in the local community and beyond. It has become a very special piece with important emotional value that will be displayed for all to see.

The mosaic is due to be finished in early July and will be displayed at Karis Medical Centre on Waterworks Road in Edgbaston. It stands at 14.5 metres long and 39 inches high.
