Volunteering in our Community Cafes
Volunteering as front of house in one of our Community Cafes, you’ll work side by side with our front of house lead in one of our cafes. The front of house team is responsible for the smooth running of the sit-down cafe area. Volunteering will involve a range of tasks such as setting up the cafe, welcoming and serving our customers and clearing away at the end. The cafes are a hub of creativity, full of laughter, chat and you will meet people who have a real love of food and community.
Volunteering as a kitchen helper in one of our Community Cafes, you’ll work side by side with our kitchen staff in one of our cafes. At the
cafes, we turn surplus food into tasty meals that we give out for free. Volunteering at a cafe could cover
everything from planning the meals, to handing them out over the counter. The cafes are a hub of creativity,
full of laughter, chat and people who have a real love of food.
Volunteering in the City Kitchen in Digbeth, you’ll work side by side with our kitchen staff turning surplus food into tasty meals that are distributed across the city. This role could cover everything from sorting and prepping produce, to cooking and packaging the meals. You’ll be working with a friendly staff team who take responsibility for overall delivery and keeping everyone safe. Lunch is included!
Volunteering as a driver, you will be responsible for picking up a batch of meals between 3pm and 4pm on Wednesdays and/or Fridays from our kitchen in Digbeth and dropping them to another food provision in the Winson Green area. You’ll be working with a friendly staff team who take responsibility for overall delivery and keeping everyone safe
