As part of the transport for west midlands The active wellbeing society has supported the Cycling For Everyone bike giveaway, giving away up to 300 free bikes to people in the West Midlands who needed them most.
The aim was to support people who are usually excluded to overcome the barriers to cycling and encourage sustainable travel, to improve their health and wellbeing. We know that one of the biggest barriers to cycling is cost, and our work across communities shows that having access to a free bike is an important step in encouraging people to cycle.
The Cycling for Everyone bike giveaway is now closed. But we are still running our Cycle Fix-It Cafes and Adult, child and family Learn-to-ride cycle lessons. Find your nearest session using our activity tracker. Our instructor will provide bikes and helmets for you to use during the session.
