We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Megan Smith as Chief Executive at The Active Wellbeing Society.

In a statement about the appointment, Megan said:
“I am both honoured and excited to be stepping into this role and delivering this next chapter for TAWS. This work is hard, and we can’t do it alone. As I step into this role, my focus is on our people, supporting our brilliant staff through this next chapter, deepening the partnerships that make our impact possible, and reaching further into the communities who need us most.
Karen has built something remarkable, and I’m proud to carry it forward.”
After almost a decade as founder and CEO of The Active Wellbeing Society, former Chief Executive, Karen Creavin, has stepped down from her role to make way for new leadership. She will an active and passionate member of the Board as a Trustee.
“When I founded TAWS in 2017, I could not have imagined where we would be today. I am so incredibly proud of the work we have done to improve the lives of people living in Birmingham, Sandwell and Essex, by giving them the tools and the agency to be more physically, mentally and civically active in their communities.
It’s time for me to step down – and I am so pleased to be able to hand the baton over to my colleague, Megan, who has been a huge part of TAWS’ success over the last 7 years.”
