This ‘Spotlight on…’ blog series is aimed at shining a light on some of the 70+ partner organisations that are making the #BrumTogether campaign possible.
Next up on the spotlight list, is Salma Food Bank:
Q. What do you do?
A. We’re a food bank that’s been established for the last four years and are one of the emergency food banks that deliver to the doorstep in crisis situations. We cover the West Midlands and West London.
Q. How are you helping #BrumTogether?
A. We’re helping deliver the campaign by sharing food with other organisations and picking up food where we can. We’re delivering around 300+ parcels on a daily basis.
Q. Are you doing anything else to help Birmingham communities?
A. We help residents on a wider scale, beyond COVID-19. We’ve been doing what we do for the last four years and are proud to be one of the largest community efforts in the UK, with over 750 volunteers in all areas making sure no one sleeps without food.
