Naomi is a chartered architect and director/ co-owner of local practice, APEC Architects. The vast majority of the practice’s work is end user-led design, for third sector organisations in the West Midlands. Inclusive community engagement is at the heart of the practice’s design philosophy, coupled with fostering a deep understanding of her client organisation’s values to inform good design.

She first came across The Active Wellbeing Society when it was still part of the Wellbeing Service as a volunteer street activator when she set upon applying for permission for her own street to be closed for a ‘playing out’ session in 2018. She continues to organise regular traffic closures and is extending her passion for safer streets and active lifestyles through a number of small, local initiatives. This includes a local social running group, and ROAM; a charity that facilitates and advocates for children’s independence in the natural environment.

Working on a daily basis to address the challenges of the third sector organisations she serves, added to the experience of running her own business, she brings an innovative but pragmatic approach to governance and strategic leadership.
