How Active Communities brings folk together in Solihull

On Friday we were next door to Planet Ice to meet Hobs Moat and Greenhill Active Communities with Solihull Council, to better understand the assets locally and listen to ideas on how we can develop happier, stronger communities and get people active.  At the event itself two local people met for the first time, one having cleaned up a street after the the other, a shop manager, had their shop broken in to – a film is now planned working with Solihull College:

We met active citizens, recognising the work already done and the challenges faced working in their local community.   The event was an opportunity to meet other people active locally, and brought together.  Below are summaries from each of the four tables at the event:

‘What’s in this space here?’ Finding gaps across the local area.
Making connections between assets and services locally.

The event was the forth consultation across Solihull inviting local organisations to work with us starting in the New Year.
