Things to Do

Things to Do

Our ‘Things to Do’ page is a space for communities to come together, a space to just be, do and connect through creativity and culture.

Now that we’ve reached the point of lockdown, many of our local cultural spaces are temporarily closed. Our festivals, events and social gatherings have been cancelled or postponed. We must seek new ways to experience and stay connected to local creativity and culture from the comfort of our own homes, gardens, or public spaces- following social distancing measures and government advice.

This is a space for creatives and communities to meet-up, talk, experience, perform, exhibit, share and inspire.

How are you staying creative in your homes and gardens?

We’d love to hear how you are staying creative during lockdown. What have you made, read, cooked, written, sung or created that could inspire, motivate, cheer up or entertain others in your local community?

How has lockdown changed the way you, your family, your friends or groups that you are a part of, stay creative together?

We’d love you to share stories with us. And don’t forget to use social media too #brumtogether.

#BrumTogether Things to Do

There are so many physical and mental wellbeing benefits from being outdoors and you can do it safely whilst social distancing too.

As part of our Active Communities programme, we are looking to empower citizens to make their streets, neighborhoods, and communities the places they want to be

Welcome to our wild community, a place for anyone in Birmingham and Solihull interested in all things wild.

We want to support streets and help residents and volunteers to work together to support both neighbours on their street and the wider community during the crisis and beyond.

A Scarecrow can be a great addition to an allotment, a front garden, or any public space you think people could do with a bit of company!

We’ve put together a schedule of live streams and on demand activities, helping people of all ages to keep their minds and bodies active.

People from across Birmingham are being invited to use their time at home to unleash their
creative energy and be part of a unique artwork.

Craft in Common is a series of five creative online workshops with artist Alinah Azadeh. It has been commissioned by Birmingham based Craft Charity Craftspace for its forthcoming national touring exhibition ‘We Are Commoners’.
