Since the Covid-19 pandemic, #BrumTogether – a network of over 80 organisations and countless individuals have come together in response to Coronavirus and the lockdown. This network of community organisations and mutual aid groups have worked together alongside The Active Wellbeiing Society to provide support for local people including the delivery of food parcels, hygiene products, and essential supplies such as clothing and household items.
To support the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our communities, The Active Wellbeing Society has also delivered a friendly phone chat service, virtual wellbeing activities, and sharing positive stories of people coming together to support each other.
Local foodbanks, emergency food provision and additional support
Find information and contact info about local organisations, foodbanks and groups who may be able to assist with emergency food support and additional support here. This resource gives contact information about alternative support and services, but it is strongly recommended that you contact the foodbank/group first to check if they are currently offering food parcels, and if so, how to access these. The Active Wellbeing Society emergency food parcels
We are providing a limited number of emergency food parcels on a first come first served basis for Birmingham residents only. This reduced service will mean we can no longer take requests for weekly or fortnightly parcel deliveries. To ask for a food parcel, you can telephone us on 0121 728 7030, Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm and Saturday 9:30am-12:30pm. If you phone us after our daily limit has been reached, we will try to signpost you to another organisation nearby who can help.
You can pick up free, nutritious meals from our Big Feed Community Cafes, as well as recipe kits and some food parcels too. Find more info about the Cafes here.
Bulk food collection for organisations
The Active Wellbeing Society is able to offer bulk food collections for organisations to collect from our distribution centre in Aston by appointment only. Find out more about bulk food collections here.
