The HSBC UK Bike Banks scheme by Big Birmingham Bikes has now ended. 

This exciting children’s bike loan scheme was available throughout the city, targeting the most deprived areas. We know how kids out-grow clothes and shoes quickly, and bikes are no different.

We are used recycled bikes that are reconditioned, and distributed them out of a network of Wellbeing Centres and Community Hubs.

It was FREE to use, but we did ask users to commit to engage in cycle lessons, such as Bikeability, before they received a bike. On receipt of the bike, users also commited to ongoing and regular use.

Loan bikes were available to those aged 15 and below, with a limit of two per household.
