On Saturday the 9th we hosted a family fun day in Highfield recreation ground. This day was our very first event that focused on asking the people of Quinton, what we can do for them, in their area. We asked people about putting up community notice boards, a community website and what free activities they think would be beneficial.
Despite the yellow weather warning members of the local community came out to tell us their thoughts and have some fun. Questionnaires and cakes were handed out and we also provided a range of activities from smoothie bike to archery. Delicious hot soup, made with food provided by the Junk Food Project, was served to keep everybody warm! Members of the allotments joined us to talk about allotment space in Quinton. Even the police came out to see how we were getting on and got stuck in to some archery. We hope that our work in Quinton will now continue to expand and develop with collaboration from the residents of Quinton.Active streets
