How can Schools make a difference?

We work with schools and local residents to work out local issues together.  We support activities with residents, pupils and staff by closing a road outside a school for a short amount of time.

The collaboration can also involve the Police, the Fire service, Big Birmingham bikes who can run bikeability and lead rides, and Slower is Safer who promote safe driving at 20mph around schools.  We have also run events linked to particular topics and dates, like national Clean Air day.  Closing the road and limiting vehicle access can also encourage the school community to walk and cycle to school, promoting active lifestyles and reducing pollution.

Working with schools and their local communities can develop conversations and bring about lasting change.
