Birmingham Updates coverage: Team effort keeps vulnerable people in Birmingham stocked up

Social housing provider, The Wrekin Housing Group, is providing a fleet of vans and drivers to help get food parcels to residents in Castle Vale and Stockland Green.

It’s all part of a scheme that’s being run by The Pioneer Group, who identify people in the local community who need support. Parcels of food and other essential supplies are then put together by us and delivered with the help of The Wrekin Housing Group.

Each parcel contains a nutritious balance of both dry and fresh food including fruit, vegetables, tinned goods, cereal and milk. So far, The Wrekin Housing Group and The Pioneer Group have delivered over 240 food parcels to vulnerable households and care homes, amounting to over two tonnes of food.
